At 19 he went to live in Italy, and by the time he found his way to Rome, he had all who experienced his phenomenal skills worshipping at his feet and even comparing him to Orpheus. <em>Dixit Dominus<\/em> comes from this period, along with the exquisite <em>Nisi Dominus<\/em>, both psalm settings from the <em>Carmelite Vespers<\/em> of 1707. Thirty years later Frederick the Great wrote: \u2018Hendel\u2019s great days are over, his inspiration is exhausted\u2019. Music Fund collects musical instruments in Europe, repairing and then delivering them to music schools in countries such as Mozambique, DRC, Morocco, Palestine and Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>It trains local musicians in instrument repair and maintenance. In UNWRA schools in Gaza, it also supports a role for music in general education. Music Fund is based in Brussels with a London Group of Friends and many partners across Europe.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>7.00 pm Saturday 27 June 2015 \u2013 Wren Choral Marathon (City of London Festival)<br><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>City Chamber Choir is delighted to be taking part in the Wren Choral Marathon, which gives you the chance to hear concerts by 17 different choirs in 17 Wren churches in a single day, starting at 8am and concluding with a midnight Vespers; a fantastic opportunity to spend time indulging in great architecture and wonderful music in as many Wren churches as you can manage in a day.<\/p>\n<p>The performances will each last 45 minutes, with 15 minutes given for you to travel to the next venue.
